Not every pest problem has a neat name. Something is biting the kids' ankles, there are small holes appearing in a wool rug, or silverfish keep turning up in the linen cupboard. These are the jobs our general pest treatment exists for.

It covers fleas, carpet and pantry beetles, silverfish, bed bugs and the general crawling insects that get into a home. Our five specialist treatments — spiders, ants, cockroaches, rodents and termites — sit separately because each needs different products and a different method.

General pest treatment starts from $260 with the price confirmed before we book. We are a local family-owned business based in Seaford, serving homes across Adelaide's southern suburbs, with same-day service sometimes available — please call to check.

How a General Pest Treatment Works

Identify what is actually there, treat where it breeds, and be straight with you about what a general visit will not fix.

1

Identify What You Actually Have

Different pests need different treatments, and the insect described on the phone is frequently not the one we find. Carpet beetle larvae get mistaken for bed bugs, and fleas for mites. We identify the species first so the treatment matches the problem.

2

Treat the Harbourage, Not the Sighting

Fleas breed in carpet fibres and pet bedding, carpet beetles in wardrobes and under furniture edges, silverfish in cupboards and roof voids. We treat where they are breeding rather than where you happened to notice one.

3

Interior and Exterior Coverage

The treatment covers internal harbourage points plus an external perimeter band, so the insects already inside are dealt with and the route in is treated at the same time.

4

Honest Advice About What Is Not Covered

Some problems genuinely need more than a general visit — a heavy bed bug infestation being the usual example. If that is what you have, we say so and quote it properly rather than sell you a treatment that will not hold.

Not sure which treatment you need? Describe what you are seeing and we will tell you honestly.

What the General Treatment Covers

Four problems make up most of what we are called out for under this treatment.

Fleas

Bites around ankles and lower legs, usually worst near carpeted areas and pet bedding. Eggs and larvae sit deep in carpet fibres, which is why treating the animal alone never clears it.

Carpet & Pantry Beetles

Small holes in wool rugs, clothing or upholstery, or tiny beetles in stored flour and grain. The larvae do the damage, working out of sight under furniture and at the back of cupboards.

Silverfish

Found in linen cupboards, bookshelves, roof voids and around skirting. They feed on paper, starch and natural fibres, and they favour the humid spots older southern-suburbs homes tend to have.

Bed Bugs — Light Activity

Early or light activity is covered by the general treatment. A heavy, established infestation needs an intensive repeated program instead — we will inspect, tell you which you have, and quote it properly.

We haven't seen an ant in 2 years. Before they even finish spraying, you can see the results.

General Pest Control FAQs

Here's what most homeowners ask us.

What does general pest control actually cover?
Fleas, carpet and pantry beetles, silverfish, bed bugs and the general crawling insects around a home. Spiders, ants, cockroaches, rodents and termites each have their own treatment because they need different products and methods — you will find those on their own pages.
How much does a general pest treatment cost?
General pest treatments start from $260 for a standard home in southern Adelaide. Larger properties, or an infestation that has been building for a long time, are quoted after we have seen it. You get the figure before anything is booked and it does not change on the day.
Are bed bugs really covered by a general treatment?
Light and early bed bug activity is. A heavy, established infestation usually is not — it needs an intensive, repeated treatment, and we would be doing you no favours pretending a single general visit will fix it. We inspect first, tell you honestly which situation you are in, and quote accordingly.
We have fleas but no pets — how is that possible?
Fleas persist in carpet and floor gaps for months after an animal has gone, and they also arrive on rodents or possums in the roof, or simply walk in from a neighbouring yard. Treating the carpet and soft furnishings is what resolves it, not treating a pet you do not have.
What is eating holes in our clothes and carpet?
Usually carpet beetle larvae rather than moths. They feed on wool, feathers and pet hair, and they work under furniture, along skirting boards and in the back of wardrobes where nobody looks. The adults you see near windows are the visible end of a problem that lives elsewhere in the room.
Do I need to leave the house during treatment?
Usually only for an hour or two while internal surfaces dry. We tell you the exact re-entry time before we start, and where possible we work around the areas you need to keep using.
Is the treatment safe around children and pets?
Yes. We use low-toxicity products approved for residential use, and we will confirm the re-entry time before starting. Fish tanks should be covered and pumps switched off during internal work — we will point that out on the day if it applies to you.
